Ingredients
  

For the Wings
  • 1.5 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
For the Hot Honey Sauce
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Note 1
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 2-3 tablespoons Louisiana-style hot sauce Note 2
  • 0.5 teaspoon coarse kosher salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Thoroughly dry the chicken wings with a paper towel.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the wings with baking powder and seasonings until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the chicken wings on the prepared wire rack, shaking off the excess baking powder.
Cooking
  1. Bake the wings for about 30 minutes, turning once halfway.
  2. Broil the wings for 5 minutes for extra crispness before removing from the oven.
  3. For the air fryer method, transfer the wings to the air fryer basket and cook at 375°F for 15-20 minutes.
Making the Sauce
  1. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and stir in honey and hot sauce, mixing well.
Finishing Touches
  1. Toss the baked wings in the hot honey sauce until well coated.
